Mayer’s Tavern

Seafood, Gastropub$-$$

Once a rough and tumble Shore bar, Mayer’s Tavern has become a refreshing and friendly gastropub with a spacious outdoor patio and a menu offering smoked bluefish, fried scallops, crab fritters, and, according to critic Craig LaBan, “some of the best house-made french fries you’ll ever experience.” He continues, “The dish I can’t stop thinking about is the most perfect roast chicken, a breast that gets marinated in seasoned yogurt before it’s cooked to a tawny crisp and served over arbol chile-braised collard greens and polenta.”
