A Kobe Bryant jersey from his Lower Merion days is up for auction — again
The current bid on the away burgundy jersey worn his junior year is $450,000 and is expected to sell for over between $1 million and $2 million. It's the second time this jersey has been up for sale.
Now’s your chance to get your hands on a game-worn Kobe Bryant jersey.
Sotheby’s is auctioning a game-worn No. 33 jersey from Bryant’s high school playing days at Lower Merion. It’s a burgundy away uniform, worn by Bryant his junior year in 1994-95.
The sale began Friday and will run until Oct. 28. There are 11 bids on the jersey, with the current bid at $450,000. Sotheby’s website predicts it will sell from between $1 million and $2 million.
This same jersey of Bryant’s was sold for $51,400 in 2013 through Goldin Auctions. It was exhibited in 2025, and the seller decided to put it up for sale, according to PhillyVoice. It is from the collection of Bryant’s mother, Pamela, and will come with a letter from her.

As a senior in 1996, Bryant led Lower Merion to a 31-3 record and a PIAA Class 4A state championship, the school’s first in more than 50 years. He finished his career as the leading scorer from southeastern Pennsylvania with 2,883 points, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain.
“No one walked into high school saying, ‘Oh, yeah, I want to win a state championship,’” Doug Young, a Lower Merion teammate of Bryant’s, told The Inquirer earlier this year. “But [Kobe] knew what that was. He was like, ‘I don’t know any other way. If we’re not going to win a championship, what the heck are we playing for?’”

With Lower Merion, Bryant initially wore No. 24, which he wore for 10 seasons in the NBA, but switched to the No. 33 being auctioned for his junior season — the same number his father, Joe, wore in high school.
Joe, nicknamed “Jellybean,” grew up in Philadelphia and played for John Bartram High School before attending La Salle. He played his first four NBA seasons with the 76ers.
Bryant was drafted 13th overall out of high school by the Charlotte Hornets before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
With the Lakers, Bryant won five NBA championships, two Finals MVP awards, and was the league’s MVP in 2008. He died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26, 2020, at age 46.
Bryant has had plenty of jerseys auctioned in the past from his illustrious NBA career. His Lakers’ debut jersey sold for $7 million in 2025, which remains the record price for Bryant’s memorabilia.
