Senator Mitch McConnell may be leading an impeachment process in the United States Senate, but he’s not necessarily leading in polls measuring his approval in his home state of Kentucky, where he’s up for re-election in November. Perhaps his performance orchestrating the impeachment trial in the Senate will improve his standing with President Trump, but he also needs to think about his standing in the history books.
