Doug Pederson: Sam Bradford separating himself at QB

The Eagles are giving Sam Bradford, Chase Daniel, and Carson Wentz the same number of snaps at quarterback during team drills, and coach Doug Pederson said Bradford has separated himself at the position.

"I think so," Pederson said before practice on Friday. "I think he's done an outstanding job. When you're spreading reps equally with three guys, that's what you want to see. I think he's done a nice job of taking the next step of being the leader on this football team and the starter. He's done a nice job there."

Pederson made clear that Bradford is the starter, which he has emphasized multiple times. Asked what he would do if another quarterback outplays Bradford in training camp and preseason, Pederson said he'll worry about that if it arises.

That apparently has not been the case this spring. Pederson praised the way Bradford has played, and even though they're promoting competition at the position, there seems to be little controversy based on what Pederson has seen from Bradford.

"One, his leadership," Pederson said. "The fact that he's embraced that huddle -- it's his huddle. He steps in every day when we're ready to compete, he's aggressive with the guys in the huddle, and that's great to see from your leader, from your quarterback.

"And the way he's anticipated throws, his accuracy on throws, how well he sees the field, throws a nice ball, nice deep ball. Things like that have really made him the guy I knew he was, and those are things that are exciting finishing up our offseason and getting ready for camp."
