Falafel with a green side
The owner of Falafel Factory, coming to 18th Street in mid-January, calls it a more healthful choice.

Enter the Falafel Factory, a takeout due to open in mid-January at 32 S. 18th St., in the now-closed Joseph's Shoes shop.
Owner Rob Rimeris says his baked falafel has less fat, sugar, cholesterol, and sodium than a 6-inch turkey from Subway -- and is 30 percent larger, to boot.
Falafel Factory, Rimeris' first restaurant undertaking, will be simple: six falafel sandwiches (fried as well as baked, in such varieties including Hawaiian and BBQ), three sides, and beverages.
