Find Little Pete's a new location
MSC Retail put out an email solicitation for a spot in Center City.
Little Pete's, the landmark 24-hour diner at 17th and Chancellor Streets since 1978, is working out details of a move, since the building and parking garage are due to meet a wrecking ball.
Pete Koutroubas said he has to vacate by "the end of February or so," as the developers of a Hyatt want to move in.
Koutroubas wants to stay in the neighborhood. Jacob Cooper and Brittany Goldberg of MSC Retail on Monday put out a solicitation for a location of 1,800 to 3,000 square feet with "strong daytime, evening and hotel population."
Meanwhile, Koutroubas confirmed that he is seriously considering two locations: a slightly-smaller-than-required storefront on Chestnut Street near 15th, which he said also lacked alley access, as well as a spot on 16th Street near Chestnut. The Fairmount location will be unaffected by all of this.
For a sweet history of Little Pete's, I urge you to read Maria Panaritis' story from last January.
