Green light for Gino's Burgers revival
A location has been selected.
Good news for those following the planned comeback of Gino's Burgers & Chicken, a chain that represented the standard in fast-food for many Philadelphians of a certain age. (Ahem.)
Tom Romano, who was the C.O.O. back in 1982 when Gino's sold out to Marriott Corp., says he has a location for the first restaurant, a company-owned location.
It's at 611 W. DeKalb Pike in King of Prussia, which last was the King of Prussia Diner. But before that, it had been a McDonald's for about 35 years. Because of zoning, Romano explains, there will be no drive-through. They'll do curbside delivery.
He hopes to start slinging the first Gino Giants by late fall.
