Movie Tavern preparing to put Flourtown in lights

The dinner-and-cinema chain Movie Tavern - going gangbusters in Providence Town Center on Route 422 near the Collegeville-area Wegmans - is fixing to set up in the current Giant supermarket.

The dinner-and-cinema chain Movie Tavern - going gangbusters in Providence Town Center at Routes 422 and 29 near the Collegeville-area Wegmans - is going for a sequel in the Philly area.

Its next location will be on Bethlehem Pike in sleepy Flourtown, just outside of Chestnut Hill.

Springfield (Montco) officials approved the transfer of a liquor license last month, as Montgomery Media reported.

The Giant supermarket on Bethlehem Pike will move into a new, much larger building in the back of Flourtown Shopping Center in mid-December. Years ago, it was a Kmart.

At that point, "roll 'em" will mean less about kaisers and more about cameras.

The Dallas-based Movie Tavern will begin fitting out the old market into a theater with an unspecified number of screens and a restaurant.

Patrons can order food and drinks that will delivered to their seats.

Movie Tavern reps have not responded to requests for a timeline.
