Nine Ting: Hot pot and BBQ at the same table

For the many times you wished that you could cook your own Chinese hot pot and Korean barbecue at the same table, we have Alan Chen to thank for the solution.

Wednesday, April 1 is the grand opening of the stylish Nine Ting, at 926-928 Arch St. (215-238-9996). It joins a burgeoning Chinatown crowd of hot pot specialists (Simply Shabu and Hippot Shabu Shabu to name two).

Nine Ting's tables are equipped with grills and hot plates. Dining room has roomy booths with throw pillows, a few tables, and two private dining rooms. It's also BYOB, so it's quite possible to get a rollicking party going in there.

It's an all-you-can-eat, too - $21.99 a person for the hot pot, $26.99 for the barbecue, $31.99 if you opt for both, and it's about half-price for kids ages 4 to 11. Dinner is free on your birthday.

Chen's family also owns Easton Buffet in Warrington.

It's open from noon to 1 a.m. daily.
