British website SportWitness published a claim Tuesday that Union midfield playmaker Roland Alberg has been noticed by a handful of European clubs: Queens Park Rangers and Reading of England's second-tier Championship, Darmstadt of Germany's Bundesliga, and Çaykur Rizespor of Turkey's top-flight Süper Lig.

The claim was even more newsworthy than usual, because it came directly from Alberg's agent.

"I can confirm Rizespor interest as well as links to QPR, Reading and Darmstadt," said Justin Stone, who helped bring Alberg to the Union last year from Dutch club ADO Den Haag.

There might be interest, but I've heard from a well-placed source that no move is imminent.

If that changes, we'll obviously all find out. For now, Alberg is with the Union in Florida, and all signs point to him wanting to stay with the team.

It's also worth noting that SportWitness' description of Alberg's contract with the Union is incorrect. It runs through the end of this year with a club option to extend it through 2018. SportWitness said it runs only through "the next summer."
