Police had made no arrests yesterday in two fatal weekend shootings - one in North Philadelphia early Sunday morning, the other in Southwest Philadelphia Saturday night.
Police had made no arrests yesterday in two fatal weekend shootings - one in North Philadelphia early Sunday morning, the other in Southwest Philadelphia Saturday night.
Both victims were shot in the head. Police said they had not determined a motive in either shooting.
The victim Sunday was Brian Crosland, 18, of North Taney Street.
Police said a neighbor returning home at 4:25 a.m. found Crosland lying in a vacant lot in the 1800 block of North Taney St. and called police.
Crosland had one gunshot wound to the head, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Saturday, police responding to a report of a shooting at 10:20 p.m. in the 5500 block of Beaumont Street found a 28-year-old unidentified man bleeding from numerous gunshot wounds to his head and right arm.
He was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Police were not releasing his name until relatives could be notified.
