Gordon E. Saunders, 83, of Prospect Park, a photographer and audio-video specialist, died of cancer Sunday at his home.

From 1975 until his retirement in 1998, Mr. Saunders was an audio-video technician with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. Previously, he owned a television repair service in Prospect Park. He also operated Saunders Photography, and photographed weddings and parties.

Mr. Saunders was a member of the Prospect Park Fourth of July Association. He photographed numerous celebrations honoring the Bicentennial. He and his wife, Charlotte Sension Saunders, produced a sight-and-sound slide program of Bicentennial events, including the National Wagon Train encampment at Valley Forge, that was shown to community organizations.

Mr. Saunders graduated from Ridley Park High School. During World War II he was a corporal in an Army artillery battalion in Italy and participated in the Battle of Monte Cassino.

He was a Mason and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Norwood, and donated a mobile public address systems for veterans' services and parades. He enjoyed fishing, boating, travel, and playing the harmonica and violin at music nights with family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Mr. Saunders is survived by daughters Cynthia Milburn and Michelle Bucolo, and a stepbrother.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Griffith's Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, Norwood. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills.
