Carter lone Flyer chosen to All-Star Game
Despite having five players on the NHL All-Star ballot, Jeff Carter has been chosen as the only representative of the Flyers for the Jan. 25 All-Star Game in Montreal.
Carter, who was a write-in candidate and is having a carer year, is currently in a three-way tie for the lead in goals scored with 27, was to be presented with his Eastern Conference jersey after the team's morning skate in the Wachovia Center today.
"It's exciting," Carter said. "It's definitely a big honor. There are a lot of deserving guys in the league, even on our team, look around there are a lot of guys that could have went, but I'm excited. It will be a good experience and it should be fun."
Simon Gagne, Mike Richards, Kimmo Timonen and Danny Briere all finished high in the fan balloting, but Montreal fans dominated the voting and elected four Canadians to the Eastern Conference starting roster.
