Eagles Notes: Babin fined for roughing Browns quarterback

Eagles defensive end Jason Babin was fined $15,750 for roughing Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden in last Sunday's 17-16 win. The NFL determined that Babin "unnecessarily" drove Weeden into the ground, according to a league spokesman.

Eagles defensive end Jason Babin was fined $15,750 for roughing Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden in last Sunday's 17-16 win. The NFL determined that Babin "unnecessarily" drove Weeden into the ground, according to a league spokesman.

Per the collective-bargaining agreement, fines increased 5 percent this season, so a $15,000 fine last year is $15,750 this season.

This is not the first time Babin's been levied a fine from the league. After a $15,000 fine for roughing the passer last October, Babin was outspoken about his frustration with the league's system.

"I don't think they like the way I play at all," Babin said at the time. "I'm pretty sure they get nervous every time because they know I'm throwing and someone gets hurt. But that's what got me paid, that's what got me where I am today. I'm not going to change."

Notes. Cornerback Curtis Marsh is questionable with a hamstring injury. Jason Avant (wrist) and safeties Colt Anderson (knee) and Kurt Coleman (facial lacerations) are probable. . . . Defensive end Brandon Graham, who took four snaps in the first game, spoke for the first time this week and said he's not worried about his limited playing time. "Hopefully, four turns to eight and eight turns to 16," Graham said with a laugh.
