Eagles officially eliminated from playoff contention after Cowboys win

The Eagles have been officially eliminated from playoff contention after the Dallas Cowboys dismantled the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, 42-7.
The Eagles will miss the postseason for the third time in four seasons despite starting the 9-3, which included a dominant win over Dallas on Thanksgiving that had the team sitting comfortably in first place in the NFC East.
However, three consecutive losses have dropped the Eagles to 9-6 and out of the postseason all together.
The Cowboys' win clinched the franchise's first division title since 2009 and also clinched playoff spot for the Seattle Seahawks, who began the Eagles' three-game slide back on Dec. 7.
