ATLANTA — Stephen Curry showed Sunday night why he’ll go down as one of the greatest three-point shooters in NBA history.

The Golden State Warriors All-Star collected 28 points in the finals to narrowly win the NBA three-point contest before Sunday night’s NBA All-Star Game at the State Farm Arena. The contest was a two-round, timed shooting competition.

Like last season, the contest featured the “MTN Dew Zone,” which consisted of two deep shot locations positioned between the racks at the top of the three-point arc and adjacent to the rack on the wing.

There were five main shooting locations in addition to the two shots in the zone. Four of the racks contained four official game balls worth one point each. They also contained one multicolored “money” ball worth two points. The fifth rack consisted of all “money” balls.

Curry has made a league-high 164 three-pointers this season. He set the league single-season record for three-pointers made with 402 during the 2015-16 season. And he ranks second in career three-pointers made with 2,659.

Domantas Sabonis wins Skills Challenge

Indiana Pacers All-Star Domantas Sabonis is the latest big man to win the Skills Challenge.

The power forward bested Orlando Magic All-Star center Nik Vucevic in the finals, marking the fourth time in six seasons that a post player won the competition.

Sabonis was perfect the first two rounds by going 2-for-2 on the pass and 2-for-2 on three-pointers to eliminate New York Knicks All-Star Julius Randle and Dallas Mavericks All-Star Luka Doncic. However, he and Vucevic both missed their first three three-point attempts. Sabonis hit his fourth to win the competition.

The challenge is an obstacle-course competition that tests players’ dribbling, passing, agility, and three-point shooting skills.

Simons wins Dunk contest

Guard Anferenee Simons became the first Portland Trail Blazer to win the Slam Dunk contest, beating out New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin. Indiana Pacers guard Cassius Stanley finished third. Simons nearly kissed the rim on his winning dunk in the finals. He defeated Toppin by a vote of 3-2.
