Each Friday, Inquirer photo editors pick the best sports images from the last seven days. This week saw a picture-perfect moment from the Flyers, as top prospect Porter Martone scored his first NHL goal in a big moment: an overtime game-winner that pushed the Flyers back into playoff position for the first time in three months. And the Orange and Black continued to stay hot as they make a late playoff push.

Meanwhile, in the NBA, the Sixers are making a playoff push of their own, trying to secure the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and avoid the league’s Play-in Tournament — even if they did advance past that round the last time they made the postseason in 2024.
