La Salle dominates boards but not scoreboard in loss at George Washington

La Salle had five players score in double figures, and outrebounded its opponent by 20.

And still lost, 89-87, to host George Washington on Wednesday night.

Clifton Moore’s buzzer shot clanked off the rim to seal the Explorers’ fate.

Jhamir Brickus led La Salle with 20 points, followed by Jack Clark with 17, Moore and Josh Nickelberry with 13, and Khalil Brantley with 11.

James Bishop led George Washington with 27 points and Joe Bamisile had 24.

The Explorers fell to 6-13 overall, 1-8 in the Atlantic 10, despite outrebounding the Colonials (8-12, 4-4) by a 46-26 margin.

Temple 71, East Carolina 63 — In Greenville, N.C., Damian Dunn scored 26 points to lead the Owls in an American Athletic Conference game.

Temple improved to 12-7, 5-3 in the conference. East Carolina fell to 11-10, 2-7.
