Reebok is bringing back Allen Iverson’s iconic ‘Question’ shoe — and making some upgrades — 30 years after its debut
Allen Iverson first donned his famous “Question Mid” sneakers in his rookie season back in 1996.

When the Sixers drafted Allen Iverson No. 1 overall in the 1996 draft and Reebok signed him to an endorsement deal, his debut shoes took over the basketball shoe industry.
Now, 30 years later, Reebok is set to re-release Iverson’s “Question Mid” sneakers, while modernizing the iconic shoe. The brand is calling the new and improved shoe the “Question Mid Recoded.”
The shoes will release in its classic “Red Toe” and brand new “30th Anniversary Green” colorways, with plans to mainly stick with the shoe’s original design, while also making some adjustments to the traction pattern and adding space to the toe box, Reebok’s official website says.
The “Red Toe” colorway resembles the original 1996 version — a mostly white base, vector blue outsole, and the patented leather red toe with the “Q” Reebok logo on the heel. As for the green colorway, the brand describes it as “optical emerald” covering the entire shoe — seemingly a nod to Iverson’s high school in Hampton, Va. (Bethel) — with lime green accents on the logos.

The new features include “heel tech pod upgrades” to add ”comfort and responsiveness,“ more stability in the shoe’s midsole for better play control, and foam pods to make the this version lighter than the original.
Kevin Duke, Reebok Basketball’s global product director, told Andscape that he believes the rerelease of the shoe will connect to a younger audience.
“Because the Question isn’t just about Iverson,” Duke said. “It’s about the doubters who knocked him. The shoe is literally named for the question marks around him being an undersized rookie.”
Since 2023, Iverson has served as Reebok’s vice president of basketball, working alongside the brand’s president of basketball and fellow Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

The shoe, which goes on sale on Tuesday at 10 a.m., will sell for $170 and will be available through Reebok’s website and Foot Locker.
According to Retail Dive, Reebok and Foot Locker will host a “Question Mid Recoded” launch with a pop-up at the Bok Building in South Philly on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. as an homage to “Allen Iverson’s impact on basketball, style, and culture.”
