A police officer in Delaware County shot and killed a person early Thursday morning

An Aldan Borough police officer shot and killed someone early Thursday morning, according to the borough mayor.

A police officer in Delaware County shot and killed a person early Thursday morning, according to Aldan Borough Mayor Michael Ceci.

The shooting took place in Aldan Borough, a town of just about 4,200 people located six miles west of Philadelphia.

Ceci said he believed the incident, involving an Aldan Borough police officer, happened near South Clifton Avenue and Aldan Avenue.

Online images show a tree-lined residential neighborhood near a public park, a church, and an elementary school.

The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office is investigating, Ceci said. He directed questions to the DA’s office and said more information should be provided later Thursday.
