A man was shot and killed in the Logan neighborhood of North Philadelphia on Sunday night, Philadelphia Police said.

The 26-year-old Black man was shot about 20 times on the 1800 block of Lindley Avenue, near Ogontz Avenue by the Lasalle University campus. Police drove the man to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Investigators recovered a gun but made no immediate arrest, according to preliminary police information.

The brutal homicide comes amid a rise in gun violence that Philadelphia officials say puts the city on track for a record number of homicides and shootings.
