Following their third consecutive loss of the season, the Eagles will attempt to get back on track at home against their Week 6 opponent, the Carolina Panthers. Ahead of Sunday’s matchup, here are updated game odds and some interesting prop bets from two of the biggest sportsbooks …

Eagles vs. Panthers updated odds

At the start of the week, the Eagles (2-3) were early 1.5-point favorites. But after news broke that Jalen Hurts has been ruled out due to a superficial blood clot in his calf, the odds changed significantly.

The Eagles, with Tanner McKee now expected to start at quarterback, are suddenly 3.5-point home underdogs at both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Hurts is just one of 24 players included in the Eagles’ first Week 6 injury report.

Passing yards

Tanner McKee got his last start with the Eagles back in January, during Week 18 of last season. McKee completed 21 of his 40 passes for 241 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in a 24-17 loss to the Washington Commanders. In his only other start for the Eagles in 2024 — another Week 18 game against a division opponent — McKee was 27-of-41 for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns during a 20-13 win over the Giants.

Meanwhile, the Panthers are led by Bryce Young. In Young’s last performance, he completed 29 of 41 passes for 329 yards to lead the Panthers to a 32-26 victory over the Detroit Lions. He and the Panthers also have the benefit of coming off a bye.

Rushing yards

Saquon Barkley left the Rams game in the first quarter with a hamstring injury. He did not play in Week 5 against the Jaguars, and the Eagles, already without backup Tank Bigsby, lost third-string running back Will Shipley to a foot injury in London. The team hopes to have Barkley back on Sunday, but he didn’t practice on Wednesday.

On the other side, Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard rushed for 122 yards in the team’s Week 4 matchup before the bye week. With so much uncertainty in the Eagles backfield, there are currently no prop bets for the Birds’ rushing yards.

Receiving yards

DeVonta Smith missed Weeks 4 and 5 and his status is still uncertain for Sunday’s game against Carolina. In his absence, Darius Cooper led the team in receiving yards both weeks, with 33 against the Rams and 71 against the Jaguars. He also scored three touchdowns in those two games.

Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan led the Panthers in their last game with 192 yards. There are currently no receiving odds available for the Birds.

The Eagles are back from London, looking to leave the disappointment of a last-second defeat behind while choosing instead to focus on lessons they can learn from a third straight loss. And you know what? The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane actually thinks there were encouraging takeaways from the game, outcome aside. He and Mike Sielski discussed why the Eagles’ sky, despite being gray, isn’t falling just yet, and what the team can build on to if it hopes to reverse its fortunes during a key stretch of the schedule that begins Sunday.  Listen here.
