Four starters appear on Eagles' Monday injury report
It's a short week for the Eagles, so we get injury reports earlier than usual. While the team didn't actually practice today, they did offer an estimation of who would and who wouldn't have practiced, and there's some good news and bad news.
Cornerback Darius Slay, who left Sunday's game early Sunday after landing awkwardly on his left ankle, was held out of practice, as was Dallas Goedert (ankle), who also left the game but returned. DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Nakobe Dean (groin) also did not practice on Monday.
The status of each of those four starters is worth monitoring on the short week with a big division game looming. That's the bad news.

Mike McCarthy says he's spoken to Micah Parsons about his comments
During his Monday press conference, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said he had spoken to linebacker Micah Parsons following Parson's comments that seemed to hint at McCarthy's job status.
Earlier, following the comments blowing up on social media, Parsons posted that his comments had been misinterpreted and that he would clarify them on his podcast. It seems his first order of business was clarifying them to his coach.

Nick Sirianni just accomplished something only two other coaches ever have
On Sunday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni joined some pretty impressive company — among two coaches who just happen to have Philly ties — when the Eagles won their fifth straight game out of the bye.
It was also the first time ever the Eagles won five straight games coming out of a bye week since the bye was introduced in 1990 — although they did lose six straight in Andy Reid's final season (2012). Their previous high was four in 1996.

Is Daniel Jones about to get benched in New York?
The 2-8 New York Giants have lost five straight games, including to the lowly Carolina Panthers in overtime on Sunday in Germany. And now, there could be a change coming at quarterback.
On Monday, following a game in which Daniel Jones threw for just 190 yards and two interceptions, Giants coach Brian Daboll wouldn't commit to Jones being the starter when the team returns from the bye in two weeks.
Drew Lock, a former second-round pick, is currently the Giants backup, with Tommy DeVito, who went 3-3 in six starts last season, serving as the third string.

Jordan Mailata eligible to return after missing four games
Jordan Mailata, who has missed the last four games due to a hamstring injury, could make his return to game action soon.
The Eagles announced that they opened the 21-day practice window for the starting left tackle on Monday. He is eligible to be activated off of injured reserve in advance of the Eagles’ Thursday night game against the Washington Commanders if the team decides he is ready to play.
Otherwise, the Eagles have the next three weeks to activate him. The team must free up a space on the 53-man roster in order to do so.

Eagles growing into a juggernaut under Nick Sirianni
Against the stark contrast of the reeling Cowboys, it was difficult to miss how well-drilled the Eagles were for most of Sunday’s blowout win.
After a shaky start to the season that featured missed tackles, turnovers, and mental miscues aplenty, it’s only fair to acknowledge that Eagles coach Nick Sirianni has this group playing with the fundamentals he so often harps on.
The Eagles are growing into a juggernaut. They’re fourth in the NFL in point differential at plus-72 and have a chance to clear No. 3 Washington in a few days. We’ve seen Sirianni excel leading these types of teams in the past, but the turnaround is what’s worth focusing on first.

Micah Parsons says Mike McCarthy comments have been misinterpreted
Micah Parsons isn’t worried about whether Mike McCarthy will be coaching the Cowboys next year after an embarrassing loss to the Eagles.
“Mike can leave and go wherever he wants, but the guys I kind of feel bad for (are) guys like [guard] Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year or on their way out. Because that’s who I wanted to hold the trophy for."
"You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did," Parsons added.

Eagles injury report: Updates on Saquon Barkley, Darius Slay
Thankfully, the Eagles didn't appear to suffer any serious injuries during their blowout victory against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday.
Here's the latest Eagles injury report:

Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith had two very different reactions to Eagles blowout
Former ESPN colleagues Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith had to wildly different reactions to the Eagles' blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys Sunday.
Bayless, a longtime Cowboys fan who remains a media free agent after leaving FS1 after eight years, couldn't muster enough energy to do much more than remove his Brandon Aubrey jersey.
Meanwhile, Smith wrote on social media the Cowboys "ain't even worth" the normal selfie video he posts following every Dallas loss. Instead, he went the rout of the Caped Crusader, an unintentional nod to an Eagles team full of Batmen.

Eagles will face the Commanders in a few days on Thursday Night Football
No rest for the weary.
Following Sunday’s blowout win against the Cowboys, the Eagles have just a couple of days to prepare for Jayden Daniels and the first place Washington Commanders, who they'll face this week on Amazon Prime Video's Thursday Night Football.
The Eagles will enter their Thursday Night Football game against the Washington Commanders with first place in the NFC East on the line.
The Birds jumped ahead of the Commanders Sunday thanks to their blowout win against the Cowboys. Washington blew a 10-point lead against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, with Russell Wilson tossing a game-winning 32-yard touchdown to Mike Williams, whom they landed at the trade deadline.
The game also ended with a bit of controversy after tight end Zach Ertz appeared to get a first down on fourth and 9, only to have it ruled short by officials. Ertz, the former Eagles tight end, also had a costly drop earlier on the same drive.
