With Flyers fans focused on manically refreshing Twitter for trade rumors and trying to glean insight into who the team will draft next week at No. 7 overall, the actual 2023-24 season seems a long way off. But it will be here quicker than people realize.

On Wednesday, we learned exactly how far off the season is, as the Flyers released their six-game preseason schedule. The slate, which begins on Sept. 25, features home-and-home series against the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, and New York Islanders.

The Flyers will open up their ‘new era of orange’ on the road for three preseason tilts, beginning in Newark, N.J., against the Devils on Sept. 25, followed by a game two days later at UBS Arena against the Islanders, and, finally, a trip to Boston on Sept. 29. The preseason home opener will be held at the Wells Fargo Center on Sept. 30 against the Devils, with home games against the Bruins (Oct. 2) and Islanders (Oct. 5) to follow.
