This friendly neighborhood luncheonette in Washington Square West offers gently playful takes on American standards like the eggplant "Phoagie” featuring pho-flavored mayo, and turkey sandwiches made memorable with either cranberry miso or blueberry chutney. It’s a winning formula for chef Edwin De La Rosa and owner Matthew Cahn, whose corned beef, egg, and cheese sandwich earned the title “Best Breakfast in America” on Good Morning America. Middle Child only does breakfast and lunch (but you can always grab dinner at their Fishtown location, Middle Child Clubhouse).
