More than 2,000 runners will hit the pavement Sunday for the second annual Delco 10 Miler, traversing a slightly altered course from Upper Providence Township to the Philadelphia Union’s stadium in Chester.

Among those running this year are the Getty family, who will be joined on the course by teachers from Wallingford Elementary School. They’ll take turns pushing 8-year-old Will Getty, who has cerebral palsy, to the finish line as part of an effort to raise funds for an accessible playground at the school.

They’ll race alongside 2024 Team USA Olympian Allie Wilson, a 30-year-old Wallingford native and Strath Haven alum who runs 800-meter events, and Zach Miller, who won the inaugural race last year.

The Inquirer’s Torin Sweeney shares more about these runners and why they’re lacing up their sneakers Sunday.

👟 Here are all the racecourse details to know, including road closures.
