A century-old Neoclassical-style home in Nether Providence Township is on the market for $2.15 million. Built in 1921 for industrialist and former Chester Mayor Howard H. Houston, the home spans 22 rooms and sits on five acres.
Sometimes referred to as the Houstonia mansion, the 7,500-square-foot, three-story home has six to eight bedrooms, a billiard room currently used as a family room, and a sunroom. It also backs up to township parklands, The Inquirer’s Erin McCarthy reports.
Elsewhere on the property, there’s a 2,500-square-foot carriage home and a former greenhouse.

The Inquirer’s Torin Sweeney recently outlined what the authority could look like, and how it might be funded.
A Nether Providence Township man, Daniel O’Connor, 42, has been arrested and charged with felony burglary, criminal trespassing, and theft after two incidents last week in the Scott-Glen area. Police are currently investigating.
SEPTA and Swarthmore Borough are in early-stage talks about potential development of a parking lot near Swarthmore Station. SEPTA has been pursuing transit-oriented developments near some of its stations, including deals that would bring apartments within walking distance of them. Community hearings about any possible developments are expected in the coming months. (The Phoenix)
