Three injured after multiple shootings across Philadelphia area

Sunday morning brought multiple shootings to the city, leaving one in critical condition

Three shootings early Sunday left one person in critical condition, one stable, and one in an undisclosed condition.

At 3:20 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting in West Philadelphia.

A 39-year-old man, with gunshot wounds on the right knee and buttocks, was found on the 6000 block of Race Street.

He was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police recovered three 9mm casings and are looking for a suspect described as a man of thin build wearing all black clothing.

In Feltonville, another shooting unfolded right before 7 a.m. on the 4300 block of North American Street, according to police.

An injured man arrived at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and later transported to Temple University Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Around 9:30 a.m., a woman who had been shot arrived at Temple University Hospital in a private car, police said. The extent of her injuries and her condition are unknown.. In an updated statement released Sunday evening, police said the shooting took place in Lansdowne and that they had notified police there.

The Philadelphia shootings are under investigation by the Shooting Investigation Group.

There have been 71 shooting victims in Philadelphia this year through Saturday, compared with 149 over the same period last year, according to police crime statistics.
