1 dead, 5 others wounded in separate Philly shootings

The victims included a child who suffered a graze wound.

One person was killed and five others, including a 4-year-old boy, were wounded in separate Philadelphia shootings Tuesday night.

Police said no arrests had been made in any of the shootings.

Man slain in Hunting Park

Around 6:30 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot on the 3800 block of Darien Street in Hunting Park, police said. The victim, identified as Lesandro Santa, who lived on the street, was transported by police to Temple University and pronounced dead at 7:11 p.m.

Triple shooting leaves 2 men, 4-year-old boy wounded

About the same time, two men and a boy were wounded when gunfire erupted on the 4100 block of North Broad Street on the Hunting Park-Nicetown line. All three victims went to Temple University in private vehicles.

The boy was treated for a graze wound to the buttocks and released. A 20 year old man was in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the groin and; a 28-year-old man also was in stable condition with bullet wounds to the the buttocks and legs.

Men critical after shootings in Nicetown, Southwest Philadelphia

About 10:20 p.m., police responding a report of gunshots on the 1900 block Dennie Street in Nicetown found a 21-year-old man who had been shot in the thigh and took him Temple University Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition.

Minutes later, police responded to a report of gunshots at 68th Street and Greenway Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia and learned a 30-year-old man had been taken by private vehicle to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. The victim, who told police he had been shot on the nearby 6700 block of Upland Street, was reported to be in critical but stable condition with gunshot wounds to the chest and hip.

Arrest in death of woman in West Philly

In a separate incident, police said they arrested a suspect in the death of 47-year-old woman who had suffered head trauma in an attack on the 4200 block of Chester Avenue in West Philadelphia shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Michele Wilson, a resident of the block, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police, who recovered an unspecified weapon, have not yet identified the person they took into custody or announced what charges the suspect faces.
