Pat Toomey and wife Kris have a baby boy
Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey is taking a respite from the campaign trail to celebrate the birth of a son Tuesday, Duncan Olin Toomey.
Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey had to cancel a campaign event in Erie today, but he has a good excuse.
Wife Kris gave birth to a son, Duncan Olin Toomey, who arrived two weeks early and weighed 7 pounds 2 oz. Both mom and baby are doing well, the campaign says. Duncan is Kris's maiden name, and Olin is also a surname from her side of the family.
Toomey also canceled other Wednesday events. "This is a very happy and exciting time for our family. There's nothing quite like the birth of a child to focus one's attention on what really matters most in life," he said in a statement.
Pat and Kris have two other children, Bridget, age 9 and Patrick, 8.
