One of the great things about having Phil Goldsmith as a member of the "It's Our Money" brain trust is that we get the benefit of his years of experience and expertise in the actual trenches of government. No one in the city can write about schools the way Phil can, since he has served as interim head of the schools. No one in the city can write about the daily operations of government like Phil, since he served as managing director. The problem is, with his background and talent, everyone wants a piece of him. And since recent reports have him a contender for interim head of the Philadelphia Housing Authority (no! Phil! No!) we've decided to put his "Gold Standard" column on hiatus until we convince him not to take the job, or someone else convinces him he could be better served helping a beleagured agency once again. We'll keep you posted.
