Duck boats have been involved in a number of fatal accidents over the years since becoming sightseeing vehicles.
May 1, 1999 — A duck boat operated by White and Yellow Duck Sightseeing Tours sank in Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Ark., killing 13 in the deadliest accident involving one of the boats.
June 23, 2002 — A Ford-350 pickup truck that was converted into a duck boat sank in the Ontario River in Ontario, killing four people.
July 7, 2010 — A Ride the Ducks boat that was disabled by an engine fire was run over by a barge on the Delaware River, killing two people.
May 8, 2015 — A Ride the Ducks boat struck and killed a Texas woman crossing the street near the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
Sept. 24, 2015 — A Ride the Ducks boat crashed into a charter bus on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle, killing five passengers on the bus.
