Flyers sign feisty Weise to 4-year deal; Gordon added

Hextall called Gordon a role player and "high-character guy" who blocks a lot of shots. He will free up Claude Giroux to not take as many defensive-zone faceoffs on the penalty kill, Hextall said, and "hopefully give [Giroux] a minute or two more of offensive situations."

Last season, Miele had 18 goals and 62 points with Grand Rapids in the AHL.

 The Flyers also signed forward Greg Carey and defenseman Will O'Neill. Carey, 26, scored 26 goals for Springfield last season, while the 28-year-old O'Neill had eight goals and 50 points for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
