Union to kick off 2015 with March 7 home game vs. Colorado

For just the second time in team history, the Union will play their regular season opener on home soil. They'll host the Colorado Rapids at PPL Park on Saturday, March 7. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., and I'm told the game is likely to be televised on WPVI-6.

A week later, the Union will head to the Wasatch Range to serve as the opponent for Real Salt Lake's home opener at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, March 14. Kickoff for that game is set for 9:30 p.m.

The full 2015 Major League Soccer schedule isn't finalized yet, in part because of difficulties locking down dates for New York City FC games at Yankee stadium. I'm told the calendar won't be finished until mid-January. But we do know when each team's home opener will be.

As a reminder, 2015 marks the beginning of MLS' new eight-year, $720 million rights deal with ESPN, Fox and Univision. Full details of what you can expect to see from each network are here.
