Winter Solstice Storytime

Model Railroad Open House
Schuylkill Valley Model Railroad Club will host an open house over the next few weekends, featuring a display of more than 700 feet of track that takes freight and passenger car trains on a route from Reading to Philadelphia. The track goes over trestle bridges, around mountains, through tunnels and past miniature towns.
The 1000-square-foot display includes hundreds of tiny buildings, little trees and small vehicles as well as realistic scenes with itty-bitty people that can be activated at the push of a button. A special treat for the littlest visitors: Thomas the Tank Engine will make an appearance. Older kids and adults may take part in the "Signs of the Times" scavenger hunt.
