Meet artist Dressler Smith
Artist Dressler Smith of Bellmawr will talk about her pastels and stained glass during a "meet the artist" session at Willingboro Public Library. Her work favors tranquil landscapes and ethnic images. She credits the inspiration of her art to "the beauty of things created by God and not by man." More than 500 roses will beautify the Moorestown Mall during the West Jersey Rose Society's annual show. Roses will be judged for ribbons and trophies by judges accredited by the American Rose Societies. Artistic arrangements also will compete. Big Break competition
Check out new talent opening the fifth season of the Burlington County Amphitheater's free summer season. The show will feature 40 vocalists selected during Big Break auditions held in March. These local singers will perform for the audience and a panel of three judges. At the end of the evening, the judges will select six finalists, and the audience will choose the grand prize winner, who will return Aug. 2 to perform during the amphitheater's Big Break Meets American Idol showcase concert. The amphitheater is on Pioneer Boulevard, off Woodlane Road in Westampton. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Beverages and refreshments will be on sale. Blessing of the lifeguards
Who better to be blessed than those who protect us and our loved ones all summer down the shore? The blessing of the lifeguards is planned for Saturday at the St. Francis Aquatic Center, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township. Charity Golf Classic
Play golf for a good cause June 9 during the Charity Golf Classic 2008 to benefit eight charities. The golf outing will be held at the Seaview Marriott Resort and Spa, 401 S. New York Rd., Galloway Township. The beneficiaries for 2008 are: Food Bank of South Jersey, American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Easter Seals, Habitat for Humanity, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association and Samaritan Hospice.
