A 21-year-old construction worker was injured Tuesday when he fell 20 feet while working on a residential building blocks away from Temple University's North Philadelphia campus, reports said.

The man, who was not yet identified, was working on a building on the 1600 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue, according to Officer Leeloni Palmiero, a police spokeswoman.

Palmiero said the man fell from the first floor to the basement.

"Apparently there were no steps," she said.

The worker was removed from the basement and taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.

He is in stable condition, said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman.

"OSHA was notified and is en route," Little said.
