Ex-teacher pleads to sex with 14-year-old

A middle school math teacher from Bucks County pleaded guilty Monday to having sex with one of her students.

A middle school math teacher from Bucks County pleaded guilty Monday to having sex with one of her students.

Jessica Streeper, 34, of Doylestown, was charged last year with having an inappropriate relationship with a student in her eighth-grade class at Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy in Norristown.

Streeper pleaded guilty Monday to one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, said Assistant District Attorney Sophia Polites.

The felony charge has a maximum sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison, Polites said.

At the time of her arrest, police said Streeper had sex with the 14-year-old student several times. She would pick the boy up at his home in Norristown and have sex with him in her car, police said. The District Attorney's Office also said she had sex with him at her home in Doylestown.

The teacher and victim communicated regularly via text messages, police said, and an examination of the victim's cellphone showed that the messages were sexual in nature.

Norristown police began investigating the relationship after receiving an anonymous tip last May. Streeper was charged three days later.

Streeper pleaded guilty Monday before Judge Garrett D. Page at a hearing in Montgomery County Court.

Streeper's defense attorney did not immediately return a message Monday afternoon.
