Delco arboretum to close for deer hunt

DELAWARE COUNTY Tyler Arboretum to close for two days for deer hunt MEDIA Tyler Arboretum is to close to the public for two days for deer hunting.

MEDIA Tyler Arboretum is to close to the public for two days for deer hunting.

The arboretum, 515 Painter Rd., is to shut down Thursday and next Thursday to coincide with the deer hunt at nearby Ridley Creek State Park.

The botanical organization allows a limited number of hunters access to help control the overpopulation of the deer and prevent damage to the vegetation and trees at the 650-acre gardens.

The hunting is to take place outside the fence area from elevated tree stands and at least 60 feet from any blazed trail, according to the arboretum's website.
