A 53-year-old Sewell man was charged Monday with impersonating a police officer last month for the second time in five years.

A 53-year-old Sewell man was charged Monday with impersonating a police officer last month for the second time in five years.

Kenneth DiLuigi was arrested at his home after an investigation found that he tried to pull drivers over on the Atlantic City Expressway in Hammonton, state police said. Motorists had complained about a suspicious-looking "police car" driving erratically, authorities said.

On June 20, several witnesses told police, a green Ford Crown Victoria tried to get them to pull over. On Monday, authorities impounded DiLuigi's green Crown Victoria with emergency lights. He was held in the Gloucester County Jail after failing to post $10,000 bail.

In February 2007, DiLuigi was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer in Logan Township, court records show. He pleaded guilty in Superior Court in Gloucester County and was sentenced in February 2008 to 180 days in jail and two years of probation.    - Darran Simon
