NORRISTOWN - Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman will dedicate a plaque Friday in memory of Plymouth Township Police Officer Bradley Fox on the one-year anniversary of his death in the line of duty.
In addition, as part of the county's Hero Cop Plaque Program, Ferman also will give his family the District Attorney's Medal of Honor.
"He gave his life in an effort to keep the citizens of our community safe," Ferman said.
The plaque will be placed where Fox was killed, in a grassy area near the Schuylkill Trail in Conshohocken, where his colleagues have built a memorial to him.
Police say the 34-year-old was shot to death on Sept. 13, 2012, by Andrew C. Thomas, a 44-year-old ex-convict whom Fox was pursuing in a car chase. Thomas then shot and killed himself, they said.
Fox is the 27th law enforcement officer in the county to have died or been killed while on duty. - Carolyn Davis
