UPDATE - 11:20 p.m.: A NFL source close to the situation told Les that Nate Allen was questioned about an incident that "did not happen." Allen has since been released by Fort Myers police.

According to Howard Eskin, a woman made false statements to the police about Allen. The police realized her statements were false and set Allen free.

From earlier: Eagles safety Nate Allen was arrested Monday in Fort Myers, Fla., according to Fox 4 in Fort Myers.

The Fort Myers police department has yet to release any details as to what led to Allen's arrest. The police confirmed Allen's arrest to ABC 7 in Fort Myers.

Allen played high school football at Cape Coral High School in Cape Coral, Fla.
