Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz had a winning return in his first game since season-ending knee injury last December and it what an emotional and successful day.

Wentz completed 25-of-37 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown, one interception and an 84.9 passer rating in the Eagles 20-16 win over the visiting Indianapolis Colts.

"It felt great to be out there," he said during his post-game press conference.

Later during the press conference, he was asked about his emotions.

"Obviously emotions were running high from the moment I work up this morning," Wentz said. "For me I was putting on my worship music and getting in the zone like that and it felt like another game at the end of the day."

On Wentz's return, coach Doug Pederson said, "It was exciting to get him back there."

Pederson said he would have to look at the tape, but a quick evaluation of Wentz's work was a positive one.

"Overall I thought he did some nice things, extended some drives for us whether he was running escaping the pocket or making plays downfield," Pederson said,. "I thought for the first time back, not too bad."
