7 p.m. Wednesday at Talen Energy Stadium.

About Crystal Palace: Crystal Palace, which is in its English Premier League preseason, lost to Manchester United, 2-1, in the FA Cup final in May. . . . Some big names on its roster - goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and midfielders Yohan Cabaye, Joe Ledley, and Jonny Williams - did not make the U.S. trip after playing in the Euro Cup. . . . Wednesday's lineup will have players from the developmental team as well as two of manager Alan Pardew's recent signings, defender James Tomkins, from West Ham United, and winger Andros Townsend, from Newcastle United. . . . Crystal Palace fans include the director of the Bourne movies Paul Greengrass and actors Bill Nighy (who played Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean and starred in Love Actually) and Timothy Spall (who played Peter Pettigrew in Harry Potter).

About the Union: Coach Jim Curtin said he plans to be smart with his lineup for Wednesday. Midfielder Ilsinho, who scored his first two MLS goals in Saturday's 3-0 win over D.C United, is still dealing with a groin issue suffered in that game. . . . Along with midfielder Cole Missimo, fellow rookie Taylor Washington is also expected to see playing time Wednesday. The defender was selected in the second round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft out of George Mason and has yet to log any minutes for the Union. . . . The Union are mainly focused this week on their next MLS game, a matchup with the New York Red Bulls at 7 p.m. Sunday in Chester. The Union beat the Red Bulls, 2-1, when they played at the end of June in the U.S. Open Cup's round of 16.
