Philadelphia Soul re-sign Joe Goosby to one-year deal

The Philadelphia Soul has re-signed Jack linebacker Joe Goosby to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.

Goosby will come back to the Soul for a third consecutive season and his fourth in the Arena Football League overall.

In his first season with the Soul in 2012, Goosby led the team in tackles and has recorded 164.5 during his first two seasons combined in Philadelphia. Goosby has also recorded eight interceptions, 3.5 sacks and five fumble recoveries with the team.

Because of his production, Goosby was voted to the Arena Football all-star games that took place in China and Hawaii earlier this month.

"Joe is a physical player with great instincts," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said via a team press release. He plays his position as well as anybody in the league and we are excited to have him back in Philadelphia next season."

The Soul also announced the signing of AFL rookie wide receiver Bryan Pray. Despite being an AFL rookie, Pray spent the last two seasons with the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League.

Pray began his collegiate career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M junior college before transferring to Division II Pittsburgh State.
