See John Dunlap and the History Makers' return to the streets of Philadelphia
The historical reenactors were out and about on the July Fourth weekend for the first time since the pandemic began.

The History Makers' season usually begins on Memorial Day weekend and ends Labor Day weekend, but it was pushed to this weekend due to uncertainty around pandemic restrictions. Doug Thomas — who portrays John Dunlap — and his colleagues from Historic Philadelphia, Inc., take on the characters of historical figures who impacted Philadelphia but are not as easily recognizable or well-known as the Founding Fathers. Dunlap, for example, printed the Declaration of Independence. Thomas portrays 21 historical figures, including William Penn, John Marshall, and most recently, George Washington.
