How one Atlantic City woman’s costume jewelry collection wound up adorning Philly’s drag queens

At “AAAHH!!! Bling-Along,” a sing-along event organized by The Bearded Ladies Cabaret, items from the late Barbara “Barb” Steinberg’s vast costume jewelry collection were on display for the audience to take. Jewelry was free for members of the queer, drag, and performance communities, or by donation for everyone else. The collection was gifted to Rose Jarboe, known as the drag performer Jarbeaux, who began distributing the jewelry among Philadelphia’s drag queens and nightlife performers, one piece of bling at a time.
