What I Do

I cover Philly schools, taking readers inside one of the largest districts in the country. I love a good drum line and a great classroom tale.

My Background

I am a product of the School District of Philadelphia and Temple University and once, in Ms. Wallace's 4th grade class at Fox Chase Elementary, boldly predicted I'd one day become a reporter at The Philadelphia Inquirer. I have covered crime, politics, and municipal government in my time at The Inquirer, but for most of my career, I've covered education in one form or another. I love breaking news and I actually enjoy sitting through school board meetings.

If you know one thing about me personally, you probably know that I am a Phillies superfan. And if you're wondering what the "beloved heroes!" is all about — a thing I frequently post on various social media platforms — it's something I reflexively say when the Phillies win a game.

I apologize in advance if one of my many relatives in the area approaches you at your local Wawa and tells you that their daughter/sister/cousin wrote that story.
