Police believe the incident stemmed from a house-party shootout near Temple University's campus.

Police have identified a 19-year-old man who was fatally shot late Sunday night in North Philadelphia.

Investigators found numerous spent cartridge casings at the scene, but no victims, police said.
Around that time, officers in the nearby 25th District were alerted to a victim who had been dropped off at Temple University Hospital’s emergency department who turned out to be Tookes. At the hospital, officers stopped a U-Haul van that was believed to be involved in the incident and arrested the male occupants, police said.
