Eagles re-sign punter Braden Mann

One day after the Eagles’ wild-card loss to the San Francisco 49ers, pending free agent Braden Mann spoke wistfully about his three seasons with the Eagles and his uncertain future.

“I’ve loved my time in Philly, and hopefully that continues,” Mann said on Jan. 12. “It’s just been a blast for me, personally, just kind of working my craft and seeing what happens. Excited to see any opportunities here or anything that comes.”

Mann manifested his aspirations, as he agreed to terms on a four-year extension to stay in Philadelphia, a league source confirmed to The Inquirer on Thursday. The deal is worth $14 million ($3.5 million per year), with $7 million guaranteed.

More information on Jihaad Campbell's injury

Wednesday night, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark Jihaad Campbell would be out most of the offseason with a shoulder injury.

The Inquirer's Jeff McLane offered more context about the injury Thursday afternoon:

Campbell dealt with the injury for most of his rookie season despite undergoing surgery before last year’s draft. He dropped to the Eagles at No. 31 partly due to concerns about the shoulder.

Reed Blankenship discusses free agency process: 'It felt like I was wanted'

The Eagles lost several defensive starters during the first week of free agency. One of them was safety Reed Blankenship, the former undrafted free agent who became the full-time starter for three of his first four NFL seasons.

Blankenship, who went to two Super Bowls with the Eagles and won one, agreed to a three-year deal with the Houston Texans worth just shy of $25 million, discussed the free agency process, the first of his career, on the latest episode of his Exciting Mics podcast with now-former teammate Cooper DeJean.

"My most important job was just be around my phone regardless," Blankenship said. "Like you don't want to have somebody that offers you [a contract] and then you don't answer and the offer is off the table because you only have like five minutes to respond. I was a little nervous; you just get antsy. [Agent] Kyle [McCarthy] was doing a great job of keeping me updated of what teams were interested, and it was all great. It was all good news."

Eagles re-work Landon Dickerson's contract: ESPN

Left guard Landon Dickerson and the Eagles agreed to a revised two-year contract for around $36 million, according to a report from ESPN.

Dickerson was slated to earn $39 million over the next two seasons and could still reach that number with 2027 incentives, ESPN said in its report.

The new deal also ends a year earlier than his previous contract, which he signed after the 2023 season. Dickerson is no longer under contract for the 2028 season.

The Eagles still have needs. These remaining free agents could address them.

The Eagles kicked off the new league year on Wednesday with something short of fireworks — sparklers? — when they made official the additions of cornerback Riq Woolen and tight end Johnny Mundt and welcomed back tight end Grant Calcaterra. But they’re far from finished with their free-agent moves.

Which remaining free agents could address needs for the Eagles?

Brandon Graham: 'I'm willing to go one more, but...'

Brandon Graham didn't walk back comments he made Wednesday about returning one more season. But he didn't double down on them, either.

Speaking on his Unblocked podcast at PHLY Thursday, Graham, 37, said he hasn't yet committed to returning to the Eagles, but is working out in preparation of suiting up for a 17th season.

"I'm willing to go one more," Graham said, "but I want to see what the team does, see how they put it together."

A new wrinkle to the failed Jaire Alexander trade

Tony Dungy out at NBC after 17 years

NFL teams aren’t alone in making roster moves this week.

NBC is making changes to Football Night in America, its Sunday Night Football pregame show, which includes saying goodbye to Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy.

"It’s disappointing news but I want to thank my NBC family for making the last 17 years so special,” Dungy wrote on social media Thursday morning. “I’ll have lasting memories of my time there, especially with Rodney Harrison who has become a tremendous friend.”

Eagles are betting Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis will continue to ascend together

Jalen Carter watched from an auditorium seat as Jordan Davis took to the podium. It wasn’t difficult to imagine an alternative scenario in which the longtime teammates swapped spots, or even sat next to each other on stage.

The two are, in many ways, bound together.

The Eagles selected the former Georgia defensive tackles in the first round of successive drafts, first and foremost, for their freakish abilities. But Carter probably wouldn’t be in Philadelphia if it weren’t for Davis. And Davis, in turn, might not have become the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history if it weren’t for Carter.

Brandon Graham says he'll be back next season

Did anyone expect otherwise?

Eagles veteran Brandon Graham appears ready to come back for a 17th season after unretiring to return to the Birds. And his goal is to win another Super Bowl

“Hopefully we can win another in my last season coming up," Graham said Wednesday at a reception for Hall of Fame coach Dick Vermeil at the Mission Capitalist Club in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark.

Jihaad Campbell sidelined with injury, according to Vic Fangio

Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell will be sidelined for months while he deals with a serious shoulder injury, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark Wednesday.

“He is dealing with a shoulder injury, he's gonna miss probably most of the offseason," Fangio said at a reception for Hall of Fame coach Dick Vermeil at the Mission Capitalist Club in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County.

"So we're gonna have to cram it into him in training camp. And hopefully we have enough work to get that done for him.”

Eagles get more time to work on Dallas Goedert deal

It is officially the new NFL league year, but Dallas Goedert is not yet a free agent.

A league source confirmed a report from The Athletic that the void date on Goedert’s contract has been pushed back to Friday. The void date was initially set to go into effect at midnight as Tuesday turned to Wednesday, which would have triggered about $20.5 million in dead money against the Eagles’ cap.

According to Over the Cap, the Eagles can't technically push back the void date but are instead using the extra time to come to terms on a new deal before they're forced to release him.

10 former Eagles have yet to sign, including punter Braden Mann

Three days into NFL free agency, 10 former Eagles players have yet to sign with any team, including the Birds

The list includes fullback Ben VanSumeren, who became an unrestricted free agent after the Eagles failed to tender him an offer.

It also includes punter Braden Mann, who has averaged 49.5 yards per punt during his three years with the Eagles, the best mark in team history.
